24 star D.B. Woodside will play Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Tony winner John Cullum has been cast as President Lyndon Johnson in Keen Company's upcoming off-Broadway production of The Conscientious Objector. This new play by Michael Murphy will begin performances at the Clurman Theatre on Theater Row on March 4 and open on March 18. The limited engagement is scheduled to continue through April 19, directed by the company's artistic director, Carl Forsman.

In early 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. informed his advisors that he intended to play a major role in the anti-war movement, advocating immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Vietnam. No major figure of Dr. King's stature had yet been willing to take such a dramatic stand, and King knew he would be turning past allies like President Johnson into powerful enemies.

Here is an easy fix: Pass a law that prohibits kids under 18 from being at a parade without adult supervision. Then round them all up, impound their skittles cars and fine their parents.

I have never smoked and i dont intend to smoke a cigar so why should I suffer his if i go along to the performance? I dont think its absolutely necessary that he has to smoke the cigar during the performance. He can use it as a prop for sure but why light the blasted thing. The law was designed to stop smoking in enclosed places which is fine cos people now smoke outside and walking around the place. Consequently the cigarette butts are piling up. I think its pathetic that they are so addicted to nicotine that smokers have to stand outside in all weathers just to get another fix instead of staying in the pub relaxing.
